Founded in 1985, Pryor & Morrow Architects has grown from two employees to nearly thirty and maintains two offices in Columbus and Tupelo, Mississippi.  Our growth is the result of repeat business from satisfied clients.  We encourage prospective clients to contact our established clients — who include Tupelo Public Schools, Amory Public Schools, Itawamba County Schools, Leake County Schools, Columbus Schools, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, East Mississippi Community College, Weyerhaeuser, Bank of Mississippi, National Bank of Commerce, The Peoples Bank & Trust Company, Four County Electric Power Association, Tunica County, The Orchard United Methodist Church in Tupelo, Pontotoc First Baptist Church, and Old Waverly Golf Club — and ask why they use Pryor & Morrow Architects.
Client-Architect Relationships E-mail
ImageIn our experiences in the construction industry, we have found that the most successful projects occur when clients, architects and contractors work together as a team.  Our role is to listen to the client, to come to an understanding of the client’s needs, and to use our knowledge and our design talents to address those needs.

A successful architect-client relationship begins with the right people.  The staff of Pryor & Morrow Architects offers more than 300 years of combined experience in the fields of architectural design, engineering, interior design and construction.  The diversity of the staff allows us to create the right project team for every job.  We are large enough to competently complete your job, but we are small enough to offer the level of personal attention your project deserves.
Record of Design Excellence E-mail
ImageSome of our most successful work has included a series of projects for Old Waverly Golf Club.  Each project at Old Waverly – including the clubhouse, the pro shop, the pool and tennis complex, townhouses, and a series of villas – works with the other projects to create a cohesive sense of community.  The Mississippi Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recognized the design quality of Old Waverly when it presented Pryor & Morrow Architects an honor award in 1990.

Another award winning project for Pryor & Morrow Architects is the Center for Manufacturing Technology Excellence at East Mississippi Community College, Mayhew Campus.  The Mississippi Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recognized the design quality of this project with an honor award at the 2000 AIA Conference.  The project includes state-of-the-art facilities designed to help students enter a technologically advanced workforce.  EMCC represents only one of many clients who continue to rely on Pryor & Morrow Architects for design services and construction expertise.
Cost Control E-mail
Cost ControlControlling construction costs begins with establishing a realistic budget for a project during the pre-design and schematic design phases.  Using both in-house expertise and private consultants, we formulate an itemized cost estimate following the Construction Specification Institute’s sixteen-section format.  As the project progresses through the design development and construction document phases, the estimate is updated and the owner is kept informed of the estimate’s status.  In a final but important step, we aggressively market and manage the bid process.

Contractors offer their best prices when estimating from documents that are clear and complete.  At Pryor & Morrow Architects, we work to provide owners with excellent construction documents that not only save money on the front end but also minimize costly change order additions to the contract sum.  Contractors are one of our most important advocates.
In-House Engineering E-mail
engineeringOur in-house engineering staff of registered engineers is an important component of our practice.  On many of our projects, we do both mechanical and electrical engineering in-house.  When a project requires consulting engineers, we have a working relationship with several from which to choose depending on the complexity and goals of your design.  Regardless, our in-house staff helps us integrate engineering as a vital component of technically advanced construction.
Interior Design Procedures and Solutions E-mail
Interior DesignPryor & Morrow Architects offers a full range of interior design services.  Our interior designers have worked with clients on a full range of interior design projects, from basic finish selection to complete interior design concepts.

Our interior design projects include the award-winning G.W. Henderson Health and Wellness Center in Tunica, the award-winning Center for Manufacturing Technology Excellence at EMCC, The Orchard United Methodist Church in Tupelo,   the Oxford Heart Clinic, and the Gilmore Medical Arts Building.
Construction Administration E-mail
ImageAt Pryor & Morrow Architects, we understand that the job is not finished when the design is finished – the job is finished when the owner takes possession of a quality building.  Thus, our final product is not a set of blueprints, but rather a building – and this is why construction administration is important to us.

Pryor & Morrow’s dedication to quality construction administration is displayed by the firm’s maintaining three full-time construction administrators on staff.  These men bring a combined eighty years experience from the construction industry to Pryor & Morrow.
